Afternoon at the Sunny Bay
During one of these free days, we decided to go visit the Big Buddha, at the Ngong Ping village, even though we are not really into touristic places and I've visited it before, I thought it would be nice for Pace to see, and a great place to take some photos. Well apparently I forgot the most important detail: Chinese New Year! Crowds of people everywhere! Once we got to Tung Chung MRT station (that's where the cable cars and buses to Ngong Ping depart from) we were shocked to find a 2 hour waiting line to the cable cars, and a not much shorter line to the buses. Neither of us consider standing in those lines, so we decided to get back to town and maybe find something else to do.
We got back on the MRT and were admiring the view of the bay from the window, Pace mentioned it would be a great place to get some photos... The train stopped on the next station, Sunny Bay, without thinking twice we got out and headed to the bay.
At first we saw a few people sitting on the rocks by the sea, then a very small beach by the end of the road along the bay.
We walked to it and found a hiking trail through the mountain and followed it. We ended up in what looked like an abandoned fishing village.
In the end we were very thankful for the day we had... Instead of going to a busy and crowded place, we ended up finding a very peaceful, beautiful, secluded beach.
We spent the rest of the afternoon walking around, taking some photos, collected beach stuff and playing in the sand... Pace had a lot of fun doing car wheels and jumping around like a kid:).
Sandy feet,
Blu
